YOUNG DRO X FREAKSTEP X FKi X MIGHTY HIGH COUP & MORE
here was the review:
Freakstep Records brought a powerful dose of what Atlanta’s Hip-Hop scene is all about to The Basement on April 26th, hosting Grand Hustle’s own Young Dro along with the multi-talented duo from Atlanta known as FKi. The night blasted off with a homegrown ensemble of Freakstep DJs including Baels, HPNTK, and Black Siren whose sets dished out one hard-hitting track after another. As if Freakstep couldn’t get the room any hotter, the surprise performance by Mighty High Coup stirred up a heavy vibe that set the tone for the rest of the night.
By the time FKi got their hands on the mic, the crowd was amped. Boasting a polished mix of electronic and Hip-Hop, FKi’s exceptional act embodies the Atlanta crowd’s expectations of a hype performance. Their smart lyrics and eclectic mix of the two hottest genres in the scene are creating an impressive name for the young Atlanta natives. Any aspiring artists need to take notes from FKi.
When it was Young Dro’s time to shine, he and his crew lit The Basement on fire. Fitted out in clean Polo head to toe, Young Dro’s relentless performance put the dance floor in a frenzy. With Bronx native Fort Knox MC’ing and Freakstep’s own Black Siren on the decks, Young Dro kept the audience rolling from one song to the next and before you knew it, the night was over. If Freakstep Records gets the chance to have FKi and Young Dro on a future ticket (especially at The Basement), you’d be crazy not to catch it.
