FB BONUS TRAXXX presents - INDUSTRIAL music from the 1990’s
This is the series (#12) where I post a selection of mp3’s at once with a theme as a group of mp3’s with no preview player. This time the theme is my first love in electronic music, Industrial. This is the music that I listened to when I was in High School and shaped my formative years. Most Industrial came out in the late 1980’s and peaked in the mid 1990’s then seemed to fade away. Wax Trax! was the most prolific label and many of these tracks come from their Black Box set (look for that on torrent sites). This list has many omissions (as I have lost many of my personal fav. mp3’s) but is meant to expose those younger readers who did not grow up with this like me. With Dubstep en vogue now it’s good to look at some of the pioneers that influenced the genre before the age of blogs. enjoy - download the zip or individual mp3’s.

1. Ministry / Deity / Click to DL - From one of the greatest albums of all time The Land of Rape and Honey. Ministry is still great live at least when I saw them a few years ago. This came out in 1988 and I used to freebase cocaine and listen to this at parties - go get the whole album.
2. Revolting Cocks / Beers, Steers, and Queers / click to DL - This was a Ministry side project that was also a kind of Industrial All Star supergroup with Al Jourgensen and Front 242 members in a revolving nature ala Pigface. They released 3 great albums in the 90’s then broke up - reforming to tour in the 2000’s.
3. 1000 Homo DJ’s / Supernaut / click to DL - Another Jourgensen side project featuring many players from other Industrial bands. This Black Sabbath cover features Trent Reznor on vocals. Click HERE to read more.
4. PTP / Rubber Glove Seduction / click to DL - Yet another Jourgensen side project featuring first Ogre of Skinny Puppy and then Chris Connelly on vocals. CLICK HERE to read more.
5. Laibach / Geburt Einer Nation / click to DL - Straight from Slovenia these guys made some crazy dark bugged out music. I also recommend their Sympathy for the Devil remixes. Click HERE to watch their crazy Life is Life video.
6. Sister Machine Gun / Brother Bomb / click to DL - 1994 this exemplifies the hip-hop style seen in Industrial, these guys were released on Chicago’s Wax Trax records.
7. Sister Machine Gun / Addiction (Sasha Rips the System) / click to DL - a great song about drug use I think this is a remix by Sasha from KMFDM.
8. KMFDM / A Drug Against War / click to DL - 1993 this was a big hit on MTV which then in my eyes was viewed as negative - selling out. KMFDM came from Germany my favorite album is 1986’s What Do You Know, Deutschland?.
9. KMFDM / Lust / click to DL - Off the same album this song is a bit more electro.
10. Nine Inch Nails / The Only Time / click to DL - 1989 Another song that sums up my High School life from one of the best albums ever Pretty Hate Machine.
11. Nine Inch Nails / Suck / click to DL - 1992 this also has a version by Pigface that is equally as good if not better. Years ago when tripping on mushrooms I listened to this song (the pigface version) on repeat so I know all the words. This was a hidden track 99 on the Broken album.
12. Spahn Ranch / Breath and Taxes (Deductible mix) / click to DL - Released on one of my favorite labels Cleopatra records. From LA.
13. Front Line Assembly / Mutate / click to DL - Canadian Industrial this was formed by a former band member of Skinny Puppy.
14. Meat Beat Manifesto / God O.D. / click to DL - Another hip-hop influenced track from the UK they were once signed to Reznor’s Nothing records label. CLICK HERE to read more on them.
15. My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult / Cuz It’s Hot / click to DL - A massive group from Chicago with many great releases. CLICK HERE to read more.

Disco Rick / Fuck Around the Clock / DOWNLOAD
Disco Rick is a down south hip hop legend from Miami having mentored the likes of Lil Jon. This song is RAW so I hope you have a sense of humor as it is not meant to be sexist against my female viewers, as I am only presenting a piece of Miami Bass history from 1990.

Magic City DJ’S / Magic City Rampage / DOWNLOAD
Magic City is now by far the most infamous strip club in the world having been name dropped by many rappers over the years. It is located on the west side of downtown Atlanta and I had the fortune of filming a short comedy film there years ago so I got to see the locker rooms and ins and outs of Magic City one of the highlights from my film career.
The Magic City DJ’s are lead/produced by Danny D most known for “Boom I got your Girlfriend” and my guess they are not repping the downtown ATL club but repping Orlando? This track/album is interesting as it blends booty-shake and 90’s hip-hop turntablism. (A lost art). For more DANNY D related posts click here for the archives.

“Blood on the Dancefloor” by Michael Jackson (download)
1997 produced by Teddy “new jack swing” Riley
To me Jackson is an american tragedy, raised by the public and culture of fame, he turned to possible deviance - - - - and pills. This dude has probably been on OXY’s for the last five years straight, prescribed. To this day his sound still rocks dance floor’s and he has to be seen as the most influential figure in hip-hop/pop dance next to James Brown. Just like Rick James it just looks like his heart stopped from too much. On the news they said this song was about his pain pill abuse, doing drugs is always a quest to get back to childhood.
On the news they were saying this song was about his pain pill addiction that started from accident’s incurred during live performance’s. Many things make up ones sexual psyche/ego. I remember hearing Jackson 5 era stories of Michael’s brother’s fucking groupies in the hotel room as Michael watched horrified. If only one could see the therapist’s notes (if there ever were any) that might provide the answer to the question. The truth is most of white America views Michael as an eternal pedofile, nothing more. It is easy to gather this as I watch the reaction of people to his death in bars ect.. (I’m currently in West Virginia) but anywhere I think it’s safe to say a popular view is he is a freak for his appearance (I agree but who cares it’s his body) and he likes kids sexually.
Downstairs in the hotel bar just now I overheard a white male in his thirties tell a joke, “What’s the similarities between Michael Jackson and Caviar?….they both cum on white crackers”
This is how white folks talk when they are in a bar with fellow white folks across America, just so you know. We all know he paid off plenty of families, but we also know there are plenty of greedy liars in the USA. I also know Michael made plenty of money for many big media corporations with both his records and his controversy(stories). It is also easy to see that white America has a hard time with someone who changes from dark black to white, it simply cannot be accepted. Most in middle America think he bleached his skin and first emulated Diana Ross then spent his surgeries going for a Elizabeth Taylor look, and this may be true, but who cares. If I had spent my life under the public eye chances are I would have gone crazy too and altered my appearance.
So as we wait for the toxicology report (4-6 weeks) and watch tribute after tribute, one can only wonder why our medical system can be bought like a cheap whore (for three years Jackson had a private doctor prescribing him Oxy’s).
Michael Jackson can not be matched with his cannon of great dance tracks, for me he is absolved, RIP.

“Atlanta, That’s Where I Stay” by MC Shy-D
Was at the lab working with Dj Lord of Public Enemy and Trill Bass today. Dj Lord has toured the world five times over with Public Enemy, but some don’t know he has been a major figure in the Drum & Bass scene for years. He is now is rocking the dubstep as well so look out, you can check him in Bulgaria this Thursday. Shouts to SNT48 for the BBQ check out the blog of his dope design work and real hip-hop. Check the Saint 48 blog out here now, fool.

“Rythm Is The Master” by Chuck Chillout & Kool Chip
This is one of my favorite old school tracks of all time period. It has samples of Rodney Dangerfield, Grace Jones and Talking Heads…. how can you match that? I met Chuck Chillout when I was in Trinidad Port O Spain for BET he was with Vin of Vintertainment who put out many classics. He is a real G, I wish hip-hop would go back to the sample heavy style of this and others (i.e. dust brothers). The music video is also pretty crazy too, comic book themed with nice cinematic intro.
